Hello My Name Is...
Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: 10:30-3:30
My name is Becky McGinley and I am thrilled to support the students, staff, and families here at Richfield as the Reading Specialist! Over the last 13 years I have had the opportunity to work with diverse student populations, in both urban and suburban school settings, as a classroom teacher for first, second, and fourth grades. In addition, I was a former Reading Intervention Teacher and worked with students in kindergarten through fifth grade to provide intervention support. I received a Masters Degree in Reading and Language Arts from Cardinal Stritch University, a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Communication Studies from the University of Kansas, and a Teaching License from University of Wisconsin Milwaukee.
When I am not teaching I enjoy spending time with my husband Dan and my six year old triplets, Katie, Kylee, and Sully. Together we enjoy going up north, hiking, boating, swimming, and downhill skiing.
This year I will be working closely with the classroom teachers to ensure the successful implementation of Writer’s Workshop and Words Their Way through coaching support and professional development. I’m looking forward to sharing more information with you at our Open House Night on September 17th. I will also be working closely with students by providing specialized reading support.
Please feel free to contact me anytime with questions or concerns you may have about our literacy program or a specific question about your child’s reading or writing development. I am looking forward to a great year!
